Based on the choices given but, in the Lost Chapel assault, where you are fighting your way up the hill, you meet your team members and are given the option to have them join you, or go back down the hill. Now, I usually run with both Ember and Daeran normally, because I like their power sets, and think they've got fun dialogue. Best race half elf for sorcerer elf or half elf for wizard lore master. You can play normal without needing to optimize and just have fun. On the other hand, Scaled Fist 1/Sorcerer 5/Dragon Disciple 4/Eldritch Knight 10 is a really fun gish build with lots of armor, good attack bonus, great buff spells, and lich spells that do massive damage ...It's a literal sentient power if not quite alive. If I had to guess, Zacharius imprisoned it in the wand and used it as a "Drain Soul" wand which would explain all the souls inside it.
